The Hamburg-based software company Simufact Engineering announce new version simulation Simufact.welding. Providing more functionality for a broader scope of application while offering a simplified usability - thats the credo of the new software versions that employed for the design and optimization of manufacturing techniques in metal processing. With the new Simufact software releases, companies aiming to link various production processes in the process chain (from semi-finished material to finished component) have come closer to their goal of an integrated, cross-process approach in the simulation of entire process chains.
Bug fixes in version 3.1.1:
Many changes have been made to improve the calculation stability:
- Fixed memory leak for large models
- During cooling analysis: convergence search only for increasing time
steps
- Reference nodes for clamping tools have temperature boundary
Furthermore:
- Export of multi-phase materials to *.JMT Format without default phase
- Exchange of transformation data for steels. New data starts at a smaller
austenite grain size.
- Assignment of boundary identifier (BID) for Weldsim solver
- Fixed crashes during movie creation
New and improved features in Simufact.welding 3.1.1:
- Support domain decomposition method (DDM) with definition of vector and angular decomposition
- Temperature-dependent mesh coarsening after refinement
- Simufact solver allows negative heat flow to define cooling sources
- Pre-definition of "initial plastic strains" for components. This option allows to model a local softening due to melting of a work-hardened material (reset of plastic strains during melting)
- Components and tools can be moved and rotated in the Simufact.welding GUI using exact values and with the mouse
- Process report contains the amount of elements and nodes of components and the complete model
- Process report shows the GUI and solver version of a finished process
- Contactstatus and activation status are stored in *.ARC files (important for option pre-state and coupling to other simulations)
- Automatic legend scaling of (peak)temperature between environment temperature and maximum melting temperature
- Define backup for license server
- Direct input of power or voltage of heat source
- Calculate and display averaged t8/5 time
- Simufact.material displays "volume change", "trip coefficient" and "latent heat" due to phase transformation
- Force direction of clamping tools can be displayed
- Non-activated fillets can slide perpendicularly to the surface
- Movies with a time scaling factor
- The format of movies can be selected, supports FullHD
- New post values to display domain (DDM) area
- Unrefinement depending on temperature
